What we learned in Vancouver
We want to send a sincere thank you to our friends at Citymax.com for selecting us as the “2009 Homepreneur of the year”! As part of our award we were flown to Vancouver BC to meet with the Citymax.com team and work extensively with their experienced staff.
We want to thank Joe for taking the time to redesign our site and adding the custom menu. As well as revamping the flow of the homepage and enhancing the customers experience.
We would also like to thank Patrick. for taking the time to share his years of experience with us on PPC and managing our paid marketing strategy.
A special thanks also goes out to John for sharing his knowledge of search engine optimization and taking the time to show us what we need to do to improve our organic search rankings.
Kyle is the Affiliate Manager for Citymax and he shared his “know how” with us and helped us to develop a new strategy for improving sales by effectively adding an affiliate program to our website. The new affiliate program will launch soon and were excited to get it started.
Pat was our contact at Citymax.com from the start of the Homepreneur contest and he went the extra mile to make sure we know everything there is to know about social media and the benefits it will have on our business. We also talked about the great possibilities that an effective PR campaign can have.
Dean, the present and co-founder of Citymax.com was on hand to show us around and introduce us to his team. He may not have known it at the time but he also showed us how to put together an effective team and manage and motive them. The Citymax.com team enjoys many great perks including nap time, foosball, company wilderness retreats, two office dogs, and a big screen with Guitar Hero.
During our stay in Vancouver and our time with the Citymax team it became apparent that this group of individuals truly works well together. Maybe it’s the “No Jerks Policy” or perhaps it’s the employee owned and operated website that sells pregnancy pillows, or maybe it’s the 11:15 huddle that keeps them engaged. Either way, it’s amazing to see such a well oiled machine in progress. Their goal is to reach 1 million websites hosted, and the way they operated I wouldn’t be surprised if they surpassed that 10 fold.
We want to thank the whole team for having us and for providing such a valuable product and effective website builder. The City of Vancouver was a wonderful experience and we will surely be back.
